Online Privacy Notice for Job Applicants
At Citizens Bank, N.A. and each of its respective subsidiaries, affiliates and related companies (collectively, “Citizens” or “the Company”) we respect and value your privacy. Our Privacy Notice for Job Applicants (the “Notice”) describes and applies to the information you submit through our Careers Section (the “Section”) of the citizensbank.com, or jobs.citizensbank.com websites owned or controlled by Citizens (“the Site”), to one of the email addresses provided in the Section or to Citizens in any other way as part of a job application or job search process (“Applicant Information”). Some of the Applicant Information you may submit is personally identifiable information, but much of it is not. Personally identifiable information is information that identifies a particular person. Examples include your name, phone number, address, email address and social security number. The terms “we,” “our,” and “us” in this Notice refer to Citizens.

Statements here and elsewhere on the Site concerning the treatment of your information may not apply with respect to information already in our possession, such as information obtained by us in connection with your former employment with us or information that is publicly available to us.
Automatically Collected Information
Every time you visit a Site, some information is automatically collected from you. This information may include, but is not limited to, some or all of the following items: your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or domain; type and version of Internet browser software and operating system you use; date, time, and duration of your Site access; specific pages, buttons, images, videos, links, or forms that you access while visiting the Site; type of device (e.g. iPad, BlackBerry, iPhone, Android); mobile carrier and/or Internet Service Provider; and demographic information concerning the country of origin of your Computer and the language(s) used by it.

2. How Applicant Information is Used
The Applicant Information you submit is used for the following purposes:
- To assess your skills, qualifications and interests against our career opportunities;
- To conduct background checks if you are offered a job;
- To communicate with you and inform you of career opportunities;
- To create and submit reports as required by law or regulation;
- To improve our recruitment process;
- To learn how the application and recruitment process impacts any customer relationships with any Applicant; and
- Legal defense as necessary
If you accept employment with us, the information collected will become part of your employment record and will be used for employment purposes or otherwise required or permissible by law.
We conduct pre-employment screening, including but not limited to a criminal background check, on all applicants once they have completed the application process and are offered a job with us. Employment with us is contingent upon successful completion of our pre-employment screening. If something on your background check appears to be a reason that we cannot hire you, we will notify you that we may not be able to offer you a position because of that information. We comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and provide you with a copy of your background check and with information on the process for correcting any errors, as appropriate.
3. Your Choices
You can choose what types of Applicant Information, if any, to submit. Submitting your Applicant Information is voluntary. However, if you choose not to submit your Application Information, we will not be able to consider you as a candidate. We will ask for your consent before we obtain additional information from third party agencies, and will, where required by law, notify you of the information received from those third parties.
How to Protect Your Personally Identifiable Information

Notice to Persons Accessing this Site Outside the United States

Citizens’ employees, affiliates, divisions, subsidiaries or entities acting on our behalf to process Application Information for the purposes listed above. We take appropriate technical, organizational, and legal steps to protect Application Information. For instance, information on your criminal background check will only be shared with those who have a "need to know." We may also disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or a regulatory organization, or to relevant third parties such as site technicians, auditors, lawyers, or other professional advisors. Affiliate companies or entities acting on our behalf with whom we share your Application Information will be bound by terms of confidentiality and this Notice.
5. How Citizens Keeps Your Data
Applicant Information is retained in accordance with local law. We may also retain Applicant Information to consider you for other jobs for which you may be qualified.
